Welcome to Germany - A magazine packed with ideas for your next holiday or business trip. Winter Issue 2009

The European Capital of Culture RUHR.2010, the final of the 20th anniversary year of the fall of the Berlin Wall and the Luther Decade 2008-2017 are the current main themes of the 2009/ 2010 winter edition of Welcome to Germany. The articles on these subjects provide information on original sites and museums you can visit and on the many events being staged on the occasion of these three themes. For example, visitors to the Ruhr metropolis in 2010 will be able to witness extraordinary, magnificent cultural festivities, which will convey in a fascinating way the spectacular changes which have turned the area into a cultural metropolis of a new kind. The article on the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Wall will naturally focus on Berlin, but readers will also find information on Potsdam, on Leipzig where the famous “Monday demonstrations” started the peaceful revolution, on Dresden and also on the old German-German border, which is now a fascinating strip of green, unspoilt scenery running through the entire length of the country, with many hiking and cycle trails, monuments and museums along the way.
